: Moments of Understanding - Tribal Culture Center; The main purpose of the Tribal Cultural Center is to offer a platform for the local public, tribal country’s key leaders to communicate with the goal of promoting peace and prosperity to the region. This project will help these leaders create the moments of understanding for the future of generations to come (Power of democracy). It will also help to educate and train the young tribesmen so they can contribute their knowledge to their local tribes. Architecturally, site planning, landscape design and using the traditional local materials with modern construction techniques were explored.

: Chicago Intermodal Commuter Transit Development; This project focuses on the connectivity of different forms of transit and different neighborhoods in Chicago. Starting at the scale of city wide transit systems, it narrows down to a specific node and deals with the design and planning of a transit oriented development.

: Multi- Generational Housing in China; In China, too much population causes early retire age, one child policy, extremely high housing pressure, too little land for open space, little or no public facilities. Also, it causes the lost of many long tradition. The losing of multi- generational living is just one of them. : Pritzker Mediatheque; This project is about Renovation of Pritzker Park with refurbishing an underutilized urban pocket park, by adding a public community facility., Sponsorship: Denison, Dirk

: Bridging the Gap: Multi-Generational Community Center; This community center was designed to make connections between the different generations to create a truly united community, not just a neighborhood. Each generation has something that they can bring to others, but this rarely happens because each generation normally congregates together, which isolates themselves from the others. The community center provides opportunities to create these connections. These opportunities will be through Music, Fitness, Art and Education.

: A FAT home; The aim of this thesis is to revitalize suburban subdivisions not by destroying existing typology but by using the typical cookie cutter homes as a basis for re-envisioning subdivisions. By creating key room components, existing homes can expand outward to provide additional rooms for current family members, for older generations moving back home and/or for additional rental spaces as a way to supplement income. The end result creates unique spaces and courtyards that places the resident much closer to nature.

: Division Street Dance Academy; This project explores an architecture of symbiosis between Dance Academy and host community as a critique of contemporary private property development in a mature and gentrifying Chicago neighborhood.

: Architectural Hybrid Studio; The innovative institute blends the professionalism of the city with the teachings of a studio-based architecture school in the neighborhood of Bronzeville. Thus, this helps the students become exposed to the real world practice, attaining professional principles and experience in the field. The new institute becomes an incubator for learning and producing great architecture. It combines individuals at various stages of their professional and educational careers. Graduate students, graduates, and working architects share space and together create a unique learning environment

: Howell Mountain Winery; Howell Mountain is a distinct and unique location in the heart of Napa Valley California. The 45 acres site rests on the mountain’s south west slopes and is planted with high quality grapes used in the production of red wine. When the fog rolls off the ocean and into the Napa Valley, the weather on Howell Mountain is generally sunny and cool. The appellation owes its distinctive climate to the fact that it is positioned high above the valley floor. The program includes both the wine production facilities and the hospitality facilities for visitors. The driving concept of the project is to merge those two, often opposing, programmatic elements. From west to east, the site has a 43% grade change. By designing a gravity flow winery, this facility can take advantage of that significant slope.

: Re-entry Residential Community; Re-entry residential communities are an integral part of the criminal justice system. They focus on re-entry prepartion, including job training and drug treatment. These group homes are located in the community where inmates serve a period of time after being released from federal prison, in order to prepare for reentering the community. The inmates are required to go outside during the day to work or participate in community services. Law offenders are housed in penal establishments as a punishment not for punishment. Preservation of personality & prevention of deterioration call for as high a priority as efforts to bring about the inmates’ re-entry into the society. Hence the concept of correction, reformation & rehabilitation of prison inmates should come to the forefront of any community correction center’s adminstration.

: Urban Sanctuary: Life and Revitalization Center; The project is a revitalization and life center for people and their families living with diabetes. The goal of the facility is to provide a place to escape from everyday living. Elements to improve the knowledge and livelihoods of individuals who have been diagnosed with the disease will be implemented allowing the project to become a central node. Creating an environment that promotes relaxation and revitalization within an urban context is of great importance to the project. Partnerships with relative medical facilities will establish a client base and ease the access to the facility. If used successfully, the project could be a cornerstone to multiple facilities across the country.

: Remote Home: a handcrafted, component-based solution for southwest living; A prefabricated home with componentry optimized for simple fabrication and human-scale labor. This project explores the benefits of linking digital design and prefabrication to maximize construction efficiency and minimize on-site delays. Its physically remote location also necessitates a highly light and mobile solution that is simple in construction.

: Introspective Landscape: Efficient Residential Housing; This project is a contemporary revisit of the ideas behind Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian houses. The building consists of three separate dwelling units on the same lot, a variation from the typical Chicago three-flat in that, rather than the three units being stacked one on top of the other, they are ordered linearly one after the other. The primary advantage of this arrangement is that each unit is allowed access to the ground floor, and to one of the three designated courtyard areas.

: Wellness and Education; What if the school were more like a playground; a laboratory for exploration and discovery? What if the place itself actually inspired the students within it? My proposal for a new primary school in Chicago attempts to become such a place. With an emphasis on wellness and ecologically based practices the school becomes a teaching tool. Featuring a diverse range of flexible interior and exterior spaces, the building supports different learning environments. The school also encourages community involvement through shared resources and volunteer opportunities. The project becomes more than a school; an integral part of the neighborhood and place to experience learning.

: Volumes of Light - A School of the Performing and Visual Arts, Brooklyn.; The school is a proposal for high-level academic performance in the form of an art condenser that will also be used after hours to house community art events. Thus, it will act as a catalyst for future college students and serve as a magnet for neighborhood residents. As the art disciplines require, the classroom and their respective studio are integrated and considered as the basic unit that define different volumes for each art form. The massing, orientation, and materiality bring a unique quality of light to those “volumes of light”.

: The Memory Steps; "The Memory Step"� is a public library combined with a community center. The project is located in an urban area that has lost much of its character over time. Time has several important meanings that include tradition, history and discovery of unique characteristics - in other words, culture. Culture provides a city with a unique identity and as software, it provides city with diversity. Placing the project within this specific area will act as a catalyst to revitalize the cultural and social identity and regenerate the unique urban fabric. The project is based upon three principles : Identity, relationship, and Community.

: PHOTONASTIC Innovative Facade Technology; PHOTONASTIC is a concept addressing the invention, design, production and potential implementation of a building integrated system. The system attempts to address the relationship between energy conservation and architectural facade innovation. The skin affects both the appearance and performance in such a way that these features promote new design concepts and stimulate technical developments for the architecture of the future.

: Fostering Synergy; Fostering Synergy will create a community based support system by pairing young mothers outgrowing the foster care system with community matriarchs in need of companionship. Each generation has social and physical needs that can be eased through the Fostering Synergy support system.

: Evolution: A holistic rejuvenation and wellness center, Chicago; My thesis proposition is to design a center for yoga, meditation and spa. The idea is to engage architecture, hospitality and interior design as a medium to create a space for an overall holistic experience. I am interested in the ethereal qualities in nature and their ability to tranquilize a person’s state of mind.

: The Collegiate Strip: An Urban Renewal of Main Street; This project was a look at redeveloping Main Street in Buffalo,New York to become a new Collegiate Strip for College students. The detailed site located at the intersection of Jewett Avenue and Main Street provided a new 'Arts Node' where students could live, perform, and practice their given talents. This site also provided a connection to the existing Tri-Main Center which allows public display space for artistic individuals. An infrastructural addition over the existing railway system provided additional outdoor space labeled a 'social alley' that connected Main Street and Jewett Avenue and provided more creative space between the Tri-Main Center and the new Arts Node.
