Date of photograph unknown. The fixed seating in the auditorium indicates the photograph was likely taken prior to the renovations of 1938, when the fixed seating on the floor was removed and this room became known as the Student Hall. Show morePhotograph of an exhibit of sculptures from Chicago artist Egon Weiner inside and in front of the Metallurgical and Chemical Engineering Building (now Perlstein Hall) on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus. The attached caption reads: "The sculpture of Egon Weiner, well-known Chicago artist, on display November 28 through December 10 (1949) in the first floor lobby of the Metallurgical and Chemical Engineering building. This is the first of a series of six art exhibits sponsored by the Institute during 1949-50." The caption is dated January 6, 1950, though the caption's text indicates that the show was on display through December 10, so it is likely that the photograph was taken in late November or December 1949, rather than the January 1950 date included with the caption. Show morePhotograph of artist Mary Dill Henry with an in-progress mural. Content description from Jeffrey Thomas Fine Art checklist for exhibition at Hauser & Wirth Institute: "Archival photograph of Mary working on mural - 1956 - Between 1955 and 1962, Mary worked at numerous and highly miscellaneous free-lance assignments, from painting a billboard for a poodle kennel to choosing paints and wallpapers for an expensive subdivision. - For Maxwell's Coffee House restaurant in Los Angeles, she painted a series of small murals showing the coffee-growing process; a large mural for the Santa Clara County Courthouse depicted episodes from local history. - Toward the end of this period, her work grew more abstract, culminating in her large-scale mosaics for the entrance to the new Hewlett-Packard plant in Los Alto Hills, which is still exquisite and intact to this day."
