Show moreLibrary Reserves over all consists of 2000 plus books, the library group study suite consists of 4 study rooms and conference room, each room contains wall monitor, white board with markers and eraser and table and chairs. The exploration space contains 2 3d printers, 2 3d pens, 2 button makers (1 inch and 2.25 inch). In this presentation we discuss the creation and functioning of Reserves, Group Study Suite and Exploration space at the Galvin Library. We show by data and graphs the usage and impact of three services at the library. Show less

Show moreGroup Study Suite at Galvin Library tells us there is a definite need for collaborative space for group study, but the bottom line is availability of flexible space. For libraries flexible available space affords the opportunity to provide a multitude of services needed by their patrons. Poster shows how we started with group study space with 4 study room and conference room. Now we have added an exploration space consisting of 2 3D printers, 2 button makes and 2 3D pens. The group study at Galvin Library is an on-going evolution of a flexible space that meets the needs of its patrons. Show less

Libraries have long participated in cooperative collection development as a strategic way of spending funds and sharing resources. Using established best practices for collaborative collection development as a foundation, this session will describe updated strategies for initiating and assessing simple but effective cooperative collection development projects that increase the number of unique titles that can be shared among libraries with minimal commitment. The strategies are applicable to any library setting.
