Show moreTech News, IITs newspaper, will offer an opportunity for interdisciplinary activities to support the development and services of the newspaper. Students joining this team will have an interest in applying the latest advances in computers; developing management skills; reporting, researching and investigating interesting topics and stories; exploring issues of ethics, social responsibility and professional integrity in the context of a newspaper operation; or testing and implementing exciting new programs. This project offers a great opportunity to meet and serve a lot of different people on campus and in the community. This will increase the interaction and liaison of Tech News with campus organizations, our fellow students, faculty and staff at other campuses, and members of the communities in proximity to the IIT campus. This IPRO team will focus on achieving the following broad goals during the semester: (1) increase community involvement with all students, (2) develop a neighborhood participation program, (3) develop a program for staff membership (recruitment, retention and alliances), (4) design and perform a comprehensive readership survey (focusing on student needs, campus activities and student clubs), (5) prepare an orientation issue for Fall 2003 freshmen, and (6) develop a long term plan.
