- Operator Information Tool to Manage Heat Treat Furnace Parts for A.Finkl & Sons (semester?), IPRO 330
- To generate an accurate survey of temperature distribution within the furnace. To determine a method of stacking that provides the most uniform temperature distribution. To create an efficient and intuitive tracking system that allows the exact location of each part in the furnace to be recorded and catalogued for future reference. To put this knowledge together to create a software package that can be used to quickly and easily generate a stacking sequence that will result in a proper heat treatment for each piece in the furnace each time. To fulfill all IPRO requirements, Sponsorship: A. Finkl & Sons, Deliverables for IPRO 330: Operator Information Tool to Manage Heat Treat Furnace Parts for A.Finkl & Sons for the Spring 2006 semester

- Urban Margins : An Architectural Narrative: Phillips - Masters Book
- Manhattan’s expansion is limited by its context; for decades its growth has been upward and inward. It fills the remaining gaps and leftover spaces in its own fabric. As time presses on, this layered context grows in density, accumulating a thickness around the alley, the fire escape, and the rooftop. By resisting the city’s tendency to stifle, one can gather these moments of Manhattan’s past, and channel the interplay of space and narrative.

- Hierarchical Structured Abstract File System
- A method in a data processing system of searching a plurality of electronic files identified by filenames in a first hierarchical file structure that is on a recordable medium of the data processing system. A user-defined metalabel is assigned to each of the electronic files. The electronic files are organized as a function of the metalabels into a second hierarchical file structure existing simultaneously with the first hierarchical file structure on the recordable medium of the data processing system. A search query is received from a user and the metalabels of the second hierarchical file structure are searched as a function of the query. Each electronic file having a metalabel matching the query is returned to the user as a search result., Sponsorship: Illinois Institute of Technology, United States Patent

- Spherodized Fluorescent Beads for Improved Roadway Pavement Marker Visibility
- Retroreflective glass or plastic beads have fluorescent properties when irradiated with ultraviolet light and are emplaced in signs in patterns indicative of alphanumeric characters, or embedded in a hot melt comprising road stripes or embedded in the road asphalt or aggregate during construction of the road, to provide effectively bright and clear indications of signs or the extent and direction of the road. The glass beads comprise spherodized soda lime, borosilicate, phosphosilicate or aluminosilicate glasses with low levels of rare-earth dopants mixed therein, such as compounds containing one of the rare earths, or lanthanides. The plastic beads may have fluorescent materials mixed therein, typically organic pigments or dyes based on coumarin and rhodamine or the like., Sponsorship: IIT Research Institute, United States Patent

- Friendly Forces Finder (Semester Unknown) EnPRO 350
- GPS modules and tracking devices have influenced many advances in modern technology. The data GPS provides has replaced the map and compass, and can be crucial in many situations. Its current platform for use however requires the user to utilize a handheld device and direct his/her frame of view to a screen. In many situations there is a need to have eyes on and full awareness of surroundings, something that simply can't be done while holding and viewing a handheld device. To solve this dilemma, team Smart Specs has integrated ideas of GPS, heads-up displays, and datalink technology to form a design that will give the user full hands free capabilities. This device, worn like glasses, allows the user to track objects and even designate objects to be tracked, which are all shown through heads-up display., Deliverables

- Transit Foods (Semester Unknown) IPRO 315
- Most of the existing large scale urban food depositories / pantries are based on a model of food production and distribution which has not changed in the last forty years. It is essentially the same model used by large private grocery chains, involving off-site food acquisition (either through production or donation) and dissemination to large distribution centers. In some cases, these distribution centers are then accessed by either individuals or organizations which truck the goods to smaller, local urban distribution points. In other cases, patrons are required to visit the large facility, which it typically in a less accessible location., Deliverables
