Show moreThe objective of this project is to identify, evaluate, and prioritize technologies that can be used to achieve zero discharge in a 500 MW power plant using Powder River Basin coal. To accomplish this mission, we will: 1. Determine the water balance around a typical facility 2. Perform a qualitative assessment of the viability of the three technologies above toward meeting zero discharge. 3. Determine the size, first cost and operating cost for each combination of zero discharge unit operations considered 4. Identify creative options for reusing treated discharge water within the plant 5. Identify emerging technologies that might play a major role in the future. Show less
