Show moreRecent litigation related to offshore oil drilling has threatened North Carolina’s beautiful shoreline and biodiversity. Furthermore, the Outer Banks have seen a drop in tourism over the past few seasons. With a research and education center, regional alternatives to environmentally costly drilling can be developed, while culturally providing a destination that celebrates and elucidates the fragility and splendor of the OBX. Show moreMadison, WI is dominated by two main forces; the state government and the University of Wisconsin. These two institutions are linked by State Street, a pedestrian and bike corridor that serves as the main public gathering space for the city. The new Central Public Library along this strip will provide a free, democratic space for all Madison citizens. Beyond collecting books and storing media, the Madison Library offers opportunities for gatherings and informational exchanges 24 hours a day. Show less

Show moreManhattan’s expansion is limited by its context; for decades its growth has been upward and inward. It fills the remaining gaps and leftover spaces in its own fabric. As time presses on, this layered context grows in density, accumulating a thickness around the alley, the fire escape, and the rooftop. By resisting the city’s tendency to stifle, one can gather these moments of Manhattan’s past, and channel the interplay of space and narrative. Show less

First urban integration to bigger master plan by being destination or starting point of journey at water front of Hudson river. Second finding an appropriate narrative to create a architectural language for Marine biology research center. Show moreThis project was done as a response to the thriving public performance community at the northern side of Grant park in Chicago, IL. As a former resident of the South Loop a rift was readily perceived between the North and South ends of the park in both venues for entertainment as well as general amenities. This project looked to fill a void on the south end of the park to create both a more welcoming outdoor space for the public but also to create a performance venue that could help bring business and pedestrian traffic to the southern end of the loop. Show morePHOTONASTIC is a concept addressing the invention, design, production and potential implementation of a building integrated system. The system attempts to address the relationship between energy conservation and architectural facade innovation. The skin affects both the appearance and performance in such a way that these features promote new design concepts and stimulate technical developments for the architecture of the future. Show less
