A number of the greystone buildings visible served as Illinois Tech fraternity houses, including, at the far left of the photograph, Brown Hall, the Delta Tau Delta House, and the Phi Kappa Sigma house. At the far right of the photograph, the buildings are believed to include the Alpha Sigma Phi house, the Triangle House, and the Pi Kappa Phi house. These buildings were all demolished between ca. 1959-1963 as the block was cleared for the construction of new Illinois Tech dormitories.
