Show moreA process for recycling rubber, elastomers, and thermoset materials in which the material to be recycled is pulverized in a manner which maintains the chemical composition of the material, producing a powder. The powder is introduced into a mold which is heated to a temperature of at least about 200.degree. C. and a compression force of at least about 10 tons is applied to the powder for a period of at least one hour, resulting in formation of a single piece of the rubber, elastomeric, or thermoset material, with no change in chemical structure. Show moreImproved methods and apparatus are disclosed for confining ohmic heating currents to a subsurface formation in the use of in situ ohmic heating for recovery of volatile and semi-volatile materials, such as hazardous waste, hydrocarbon-like materials, and valuable minerals having thermally responsive properties. Spacing between emplaced electrodes and the number of electrodes employed are controlled to cause coupling between electrodes for more uniform and higher temperature heating. Electrode designs are disclosed which suppress spurious earth currents which would heat other formations not of interest. Suppression of electrode end currents is accomplished by the use of distinct rings of insulation, control of the applied potential along the electrode, and injection or withdrawal of fluids at distinct locations along the electrode. Show moreLibrary Reserves over all consists of 2000 plus books, the library group study suite consists of 4 study rooms and conference room, each room contains wall monitor, white board with markers and eraser and table and chairs. The exploration space contains 2 3d printers, 2 3d pens, 2 button makers (1 inch and 2.25 inch). In this presentation we discuss the creation and functioning of Reserves, Group Study Suite and Exploration space at the Galvin Library. We show by data and graphs the usage and impact of three services at the library. Show less

The following are brief summaries of short legal research lessons that the library can offer. This takes a modular approach where faculty can pick and choose and even combine modules. For example, one instructor may ask a librarian to come in for Getting Started and Case law on the same day, while another may want a librarian to come in and teach only Terms and Connectors. For each module, I give the name, student learning outcomes, suggested pairing of assignment/time in the semester, a summary of teaching activities, and the time I expect the module to take. In general, these class sessions take the form of a short talk and/or discussion to introduce the topic and teach some basic concepts, followed by group or individual work to practice researching while the instructor and the librarian walk around in the room, and some time to discuss the results as a group. Although the librarian takes the lead, faculty can expect to participate in the discussion. The librarians have found that the students are more engaged in research sessions when their instructor participates. Show less
