A number of the greystone buildings visible served as Illinois Tech fraternity houses, including, at the far left of the photograph, Brown Hall, the Delta Tau Delta House, and the Phi Kappa Sigma house. At the far right of the photograph, the buildings are believed to include the Alpha Sigma Phi house, the Triangle House, and the Pi Kappa Phi house. These buildings were all demolished between ca. 1959-1963 as the block was cleared for the construction of new Illinois Tech dormitories. Show morePhotograph of the demolition of the Armour Research Building located at 55 East 33rd Street (Wabash Ave & 33rd St) on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus. The building, built in 1920s, originally housed the Huber and Huber Motor Express trucking terminal. The building was acquired by the Armour Research Foundation in 1949, and renovated in the 1950s. It housed various ARF activities in the subsequent decades, including Physics and Chemistry research, before housing the Institute for Psychological Services in the years immediately prior to its demolition in 1975.
