  <dc:description>Rapid developments in wireless communication technology have created new opportunities to implement information networks that can support the operation of modern public transportation systems. The primary goal of this continuing IPRO team has been to develop a wireless information network design that facilitates communications in a large-scale system like that characterized by the Chicago Transit Authority. The team will focus on the development of a custom wireless mobile communications system for vehicle tracking and route-specific graphic display of vehicle motion. Objectives for the team will include enhancing the computer-GPS interface for data extrapolation, implementation of multiple input real-time graphic display, and traffic model development.</dc:description>
