It w pointed out that ITSA is the gen- eral supervising board of all cem- pus activities, whether or not such activities are subsidized by ITSA funds; and as that, campus organn izations should support the policies of ITSA. A summary of the respon- sibilities which student groups have toward ITSA, will be available within a short time. The recently-organized social chaii‘mon’s committee requires that social functions held by student or- ganizations must be registered with the committee and the date approved. The purpose of this is to prevent any future conflicts be« tween all-school functions and large socials held by any of the 90-odd campus organizations. The first action taken under this ruling was the cancellation 'of the AIEE dance, which was to he held at the Sheraton hotel a week before the Junior Week From at the same place. The size of the AIEE mem- bership and the fact that bids were as favoring punitive action agains regulations set down by ITSA. Th1 sold to people outside of the AIEE would have presented a seriouo handicap to the success of the all- school dance. Tau Beta. Pi, which is holding a dance the same night and which failed to notify ITSA of the fact, was nevertheless per— mitted to hold its social. It was decided that the affair did not afl'cct the large number of peo-- pic that the AlEE dance did and, therefore, was not in conflict with the Junior Week From. A letter of reprimand will he sent to Tau Beta Pi for failing to comply with the ITSA ruling. The following information is re- quired about forthcoming socials in order to determine whether the "size and importance of the social presents a conflict with all-school functions: date of social, whether restricted to’members or open to general student body, type of dance, admission charged, itchy, and approximate attendance e3:- .
