KASMAR, Ell ’45 Nomi Siislem All the good that can be said of our “Honor System” has been well prébzii'ed. Now how about some slants or: just why such a system is finding itself on a rocky road at KIT. Yes, we all know the value of learning and really knowing: the material at: hand cold. But when an institutionrsuch as this one zipper ently puts far more emphasis upon an A or 13 than upon knowledge, just what is the natural alternative? How many students are quite able to master their homework, complefie their reports, recite in class, yet when exam day rolls aroundy this same student finds himself in dire straits. His memory has left himy nervousness takes over and in sheer desperation allows his eyes to room. He knows he is doing wrong, but he also hates to have an exam grade put him oui. of School. Until an institution or school of learning can present a program where they can determine a student’s ability on Work done and not on a hurried fifty minute exam, then aml only then may they find a higher incentive instilled in the student. Exams should contribute quite a hit toward the final grade but not to such a large percentage as appar— ently is the precedent here. {Signed} John Anilei'son WE. Elise-3E Elichsogo a 5% <7” 3% .
