4 UTSAV GAN DHI campus@technewsll com TechNews Tuesda November 2011 GLAM presents 2nd Annual Lady GaGa Dance Party By Hannah Larson ASSISTANT EDITOR Free food. Fun dancing. Little monsters, unite! Gays, Lesbians, Allies & More (GLAM), IIT’s onrcampus LGBTQIA group, is excited to present their second annual Lady caca Dance Party on Friday November 4, at 7 p.m. in the MTCC ballroom. Lady caca is a prominent figure within the LGBTQ community as a powerful advocate, also known as an ally, to those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, or questioning. For this reason, GLAM has chosen to once again theme their second dance party after Lady caca, as a tribute to “Mother Monster," as she is called by her fans, who are in turn referred to as her “little monsters." Last year’s Lady caca Dance Party was a raging success, much to the surprise of GLAM members. Approximately 150 people showed up, danced, ate free food, and competed in a Costume Contest This year, GLAM is expecting around 300 people and will have a Lady GaGarcentric playlist ready for the dance floor, as well as gift card prizes for the top three costumes at the dance party. GLAM has invested in adisco ball and strobe lights to liken the experience to a Lady caca concert. GLAM encourages students, stair, and faculty alike to stop by on Friday to experience some postrHalloween fun, and getin touchwith your inner little monster. Tradition has dictated a Lady GaGa themed outfit, but this is a great opportunity to recycle that Halloween costume and put it to good use. Can a religious person believe in Gods hand in these events while using science to explain the mechanisms of how God accomplishes these things? Conversely, can a firm believer in science use science to explain everything while leaving open the possibility that a higher hand could have some input in the process?
