From the attached caption: "Slave manipulator ion the 'hot' cell of new nuclear reactor at Armour Research Foundation of Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, is operated by Dr. Leonard Reiffel, manager of physics research. Experiments are observed through a lead-glass window three feet thick, which gives people radiation protection. The special window , which contains lead in the glass, is composed of six sheets of glass separated with oil.
