Congratulations, graduating seniors! Your four years of college life are over and you are now about to enter the fields of engineering for which you have been training. You have com- pleted your first task and are now, supposedly at least, equipped with the necessary tools and ex- tras which should enable you to make a success in the business world. For the last four years, Armour has occupied your minds for the major portion of your wak- ing hours. It is here that you have spent the four most cherished years of your life, or so alumni say. It is here that you have received the guid- ance of men experienced in the various fields of engineering; and it is here that your thoughts will return when you think of college days. In your daily school routine you have made contacts with the deans and professors who are all members of the Armour Alumni association, an important Armour organization. This associv ation has played an important park in your school career, a fact that is often overlooked. First of all they have placed before the public the facts that Armour is an outstanding engi— neering college of high repute and that Armour graduates are qualified men. They have con— tributed in a large part to the support and main. tenance of the school. In their meetings, the as— sociation has served to bring into close contact old and new classmates, professors, cleans“ directors, and fraternity brothers. In otherl words, this association enables the graduates of the school to maintain their previous connec- tions and to keep in close contact with recent developments in the curriculum of the institute. For some reason there is an idea which pro— vails among graduates that the alumni group themselves according to their classes, thus caus— ing divisions in the group as a whole. The preva— lence of this idea has caused the association con- siderable concern due to the fact that they do not want any divisions or distinctions to arise be- tween the old and new alumni. They have been trying for some time to have the graduates enter the association as a body, to have each and every one become acquainted with the old mem- bers and in this way break down any artificial barriers existing between the groups. The alumni have hoped that commencement would come to mean the beginning of activity of the graduate in the alumni group. For this reason primarily, the association has arranged a banquet which is to be held at the Medinah-Michigan Avenue Club Tuesday eve- ning, June 5, at 6:30. Every graduating class of both the Armour Academy and Institute has been working hard to get a good turnout and to give the latest crop of graduates a grand we}. come. PM your own benefit and enjoyment as well as the furthering of the purpose of the as» sociation, you should attend. 1 ARMOUR TE 5 c ‘ 9 o a 9 The filipsticls l Cleave to ”The Slipstick"; let ‘ the Slapstick fly where it may.
